Robert Travers, son of Samuel Holt Travers and Beatrice Walker, was born in Rainhill, Lancashire on January 17, 1843.

On the 1871 Census, Robert lived on New London Road, St. Albans with his mother Beatrice, his brothers Richard and Thomas, and his sister Ellen Rennie along with her two daughters Beatrice Rennie and Miriam Rennie.

Robert married Mary Ann Baldwin (1852-) on 21 Jan 1872 at the Church of St John, Bethnal Green. They had seven children.

1. 1.Eleanor Elizabeth Travers
   Born 1873, Clerkenwell, Middlesex
        Eleanor Elizabeth married Frederick Richard Campling on 3 Jun 1906 in the Parish of St. Thomas, Bethnal Green. Frederick was born in abt 1877. They had the following children:
   a. Eleanor A born 1911 in Bethnal Green. She married Thomas W Clarke.
   b. Frederick R born 1912 in Bethnal Green and died as an infant in 1913.
   c. Albert F born 1914 in Bethnal Green and died as an infant in 1915.
   d. Henry R born 1915 in Kensington and died as an infant in 1916.
   e. Ivy Alice born 14 May 1916 in Kensington and died in 1985. She married William G Halsey.
   

2. 2.Samuel Travers
   Born abt 1875, Clerkenwell, Middlesex
   Died 27 Sep 1890
       Samuel died of typhoid when the family lived at 81 Westmoreland Place, Hoxton New Town, Shoreditch, London.
   

3. 3.Robert Travers
   Born 1877, Bethnal Green. It is unknown what happened to Robert.
   

4. 4.George Travers
   Born 22 Apr 1879, Holburn and baptised 18 May 1879 in the Parish of St Thomas Charterhouse, Middlesex. The family was living at 161 Goswell Road and his father Robert’s occupation was Chronometer Finisher.
   

5. 5.Susannah Travers
   Susannah was born in 1881 and died in January 1884. She was buried 31 Jan 1884 in St. Pancras Cemetery, Camden.
   

6. 6.Miriam Rose Travers
   Born 1883, Islington
   Miriam married Henry Charles Phillips on 24 Apr 1905 at St Thomas Church, Bethnal Green, Middlesex. They had two children, Miriam R and Ivy Louise. He was a widower at the time they were married and had previously been married to Emma Elizabeth Tekell.
   

7. 7.Hannah Travers
   Born 1886, Clerkenwell, Middlesex
   Hannah married Peter Lamb (born abt 1890) on 25 Dec 1919 at the Parish Church of St Chad, Haggerston, London and were living at 52 Laburnam Street, London. They had three children Hannah (born 1921), Mary A R (born 1923) and May E (born 1926).
   

8. 8.Charles Stanley Travers
   Born 1890 City Road, Shoreditch, London
   Charles may have died in 1911.
   

On the 1881 Census, Robert and Mary Ann lived at 161 Goswell Road with their children Eleanor, Samuel, Robert, and George.

On the 1891 Census, Robert lived at 81 Westmoreland Place, Shoreditch, London with his wife Mary Ann and six children.

On the 1901 Census, Eleanor Elizabeth (occupation Sewer), Minnie, Hannah and Charles lived at 10 Horatio Street, Bethnal Green, London with their Aunt Hannah Watts. Mary Ann Travers (Widower) was working as a housekeeper at 119 Parnell Road.

Robert died 6 Mar 1898 at the Workhouse, East Bethnal Green, County of London from tuberculosis. His residence was 10 Horatio Street and his daughter E.E. Travers was in attendance.
